Long before Nikki Walker had an impulse to write, she was reading. Reading was her EVERYTHING--her escape and means of entering new worlds. Everything was possible between the covers of a book, especially to a little girl growing up in Newark, New Jersey in the 70's and 80's. A 4th grade contest helped her put her first words on paper and eventually when journaling, it became a means for emotionally venting.
