Carl Waldman, freelance writer, has written numerous books on history and popular culture, including Atlas of the North American Indian and The Art of Magic. As the director of the Performance and Production Workshops in Cherry Valley, NY, he has worked with young musicians, visual artists, and poets. His screenplays include a Miami Vice episode for NBC and The Farmer s Wife for PBS. Also a musician, he has written numerous songs. As brother of poet Anne Waldman, author of Fast Speaking Woman, he has been privy to the New York City poetry scene since the 1960s.
