Roberts was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was educated in both America and England, where he received his BA (equivalent) majoring in Economic History. He has since received his Doctorate in Divinity and an Honorary PhD for his work in clinical research. He returned to America in 1990 and made his home in Hot Springs, AR. The Institute for Neurology and Neuroscience Research was co-founded by Roberts where he served as Executive Director.
