Paul was born in Brooklyn, New York. He studied and taught Philosophy before leaving New York for the West Coast where he explored Hinduism, Buddhism and New Age thinking. He was encountered by the Gospel in Berkeley in 1973. He and his wife Adrienne have traveled to Brazil, Zambia, India, China and Europe teaching and speaking about the Gospel. "Judgment and Mercy" was born out of his own deep wrestlings with God's judgment in Scripture and the meaning of suffering in life and the world.
