R.N. Jordan was born in Detroit, Michigan, on September 3, 1982. She discovered her love for fiction novels after reading Michael Connelly's, The Lincoln Lawyer, while traveling a long flight to Tokyo, Japan for vacation. In the midst of her career as an electrical engineer, Jordan decided to apply to graduate school, where she was required to write a personal statement.
