Richard F. Veit, Ph.D., teaches in the Department of History and Anthropology at Monmouth University. Trained as an archaeologist, Veit has researched, excavated, and written about numerous historic sites in New Jersey and adjacent states. He was born and raised in South Plainfield, where he resides today. In South Plainfield, he has combined vintage photographs, many previously unpublished, from the collections of the South Plainfield Historical Society and local residents, with fascinating historical text to create a detailed snapshot of South Plainfield's past.
