Jamel Paul was born on September 1, 1976 in Brooklyn, NY. He began writing and drawing comic books in elementary school. By the time his final term at the NY Institute of Business Technology came around (1996-1998), Jamel was in control of the school newspaper, functioning as editor-in-chief as he collaborated with the writers, reporters, and designers assigned to the paper.
