Halaevalu F. Ofahengaue Vakalahi, BS, MSW, MEd, PhD, is professor and associate dean in the School of Social Work at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. She is a Pacific Islander, born in Tonga and raised in Hawaii. Her areas of teaching include human behavior and the social environment and social policy.
