Kanchana Krishnan Ayyar was born in New Delhi, India and grew up in Kolkata and Mumbai. She completed a degree in Economics from St. Xavier's college, Mumbai and worked briefly as a Marketing Executive for a major hotel chain. After living in Mexico and Argentina for a few years, she moved to USA where she completed her second degree in Elementary Education. She now lives in Coral Springs, Florida, with her husband and two daughters.
