The Author is writing under the pen name of E. Treffry and also uses it for his art work. He started working on, and building parts for, marine vessels belonging to his Father in 1956. The first project was as a welder's helper building spare rudders. Later that year he worked on one of his vessels, a river towboat, traveling on the Illinois, Mississippi, Ohio, and Cumberland Rivers and the Gulf Coast Canal.
