Samuel Torvend is Professor of the History of Christianity at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. He is Director of the Wild Hope Project on Vocation, and Director of the Center for Religion and Culture in the Pacific Northwest. He also serves as priest associate for adult formation at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Seattle.
