Robert Tormanen and his twin brother, Richard, were born in a small Minnesota farming community in 1942 to a family of Finnish descent. As a young man, he served in the US Army and then went on to marry the love of his life, Grace, and become the father of ten children. Over the years, he has held a wide variety of jobs, including working as a mail carrier, real estate agent, charter bus driver, and farmer.
