Eva Thorne, back in 1984 and speaking very little English, flew to the British Channel Island of Guernsey to spend a few weeks holiday there with her restaurant owning relatives. At a dinner party one night she met her future English husband Tony, invited that evening because he claimed to know a little German! She still is waiting to know who was that little German! One thing led to another and a few months later they were married on Christmas Eve.
