Heather Thompson Heather Ann Thompson is Associate Professor of History at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her first book, "Whose Detroit? Politics, Labor and Race in a Modern American City" (Cornell University Press, 2001) explored the social and political activism that played out in the streets and workplaces of the Motor City during the tumultuous 1960s and 1970s.
