Emma Thompson won her second Oscar(R) for her screenplay of "Sense and Sensibility"; she also won the Academy Award(R) for Best Actress for "Howards End". She was nominated twice after that for her leading role in "The Remains of the Day" and for her supporting role in "In the Name of the Father". Named by "Time" magazine as one of its 2004 "European Heroes," she recently was appointed to the United Nations' Global Coalition on Women and AIDS.
