Tony Howard started climbing in 1953. He was a Peak District activist in the 1950s and 60s writing guides to gritstone and limestone. He was a founding partner of Troll Climbing Equipment in 1965 and is a partner with Di Taylor in the Adventure Travel Consultancy Group N.O.M.A.D.S.
