Born in 1977 in Amakusa on the southern tip of Japan, [b]Kan Takahama[/b] completed her studies in contemporary art and made her debut in manga by entering a contest organized by the underground magazine [i]Garo[/i] in 2000. Her story, [i]Women Who Survive[/i] which opens this collection, won a prize and was published in 2001. Her worked appeared regularly after that and was collected in the album [i]Yellowbacks[/i] in 2002.
