Ivan was born in Harlingen, Texas, and was raised by his grandmother in a Hispanic community. His early childhood experiences of rejection left him with a feeling of inferiority. At age 17, in a time of great pain in his heart, Ivan was handed a Bible. Not knowing what he held, he opened it to 1 Corinthians 13. With a new hunger for love and truth, Ivan began his quest to find the will of God for his life.
