Debra Ledford grew up in a large family of 10 children in the country on a farm with cows and chickens; and she experienced working in a large garden, watching her mom prepare food from scratch, and watched as her mom created clothes from a sewing machine. Debra learned the value of living on a budget and became inspired to create a way to make paying the bills wildly fun and at the same time put a limit on her spending in other areas. Debra Ledford works in retail and that is where she received her inspiration to write this book. She is a native of Traverse city, Michigan.
