Catherine D. Killam, also known as "Cat" Catherine and her husband live on the Big Island of Hawaii. She and her husband formed Cat-Care, a 501(c)3 nonprofit in 1998. They have rescued well over 500 animals either through reuniting them with their owners or providing them temporary or permanent shelter in a no-kill cat sanctuary. The residents of "The Cat House" are spayed or neutered. With the birth of twin granddaughters, Catherine was inspired to write a children's book.
