Lea (Eleta) Sucsy grew up with music as part of her life and when she accompanied her future husband to a practice of his contra dance band, she knew she wanted to be in the band. Fortunately, ten years of childhood piano lessons helped her play contra dance piano. Today, some years and several instruments later, she still plays for contra dances. She enjoys dancing and does American and English clogging. She has a bachelor's degree in sociology from Emory University and a master's degree in wildlife management from the University of Maine.
