Sturges, Preston, Jr.

Preston Sturges (1898-1959) was a member of Hollywood's gifted royalty. He wrote, directed, and produced a remarkable number of successful films, and wrote and produced for the Broadway stage. Andrew Horton, Jeanne H. Smith Professor of Film Studies at the University of Oklahoma, is the author of "Writing the Character-Centered Screenplay" (California, 1993) and coeditor (with Stuart McDougal) of "Play It Again, Sam" (California, 1998).
