Steward, Samuel

Samuel Steward (1909-1993) used the pseudonym Philip Sparrow for some of his writings. He was a poet, novelist, and a professor at Loyola and DePaul universities in Chicago. In the 1950s he left academia and became a tattoo artist and pornographer in Chicago and San Francisco.
