Maurice Stanley holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He taught philosophy at the University of North Carolina Wilmington until his retirement. A native of Western North Carolina, Dr. Stanley is the author of the historical novels The Legend of Nance Dude, Midwinter, and Sorrows End, as well as a logic textbook, Logic and Controversy, and a philosophy book, God, Hope, and Freedom.
