James C. Stanley, MD, is an internationally recognized vascular surgeon and scientist. He has been on the faculty of the University of Michigan since 1972, where he currently serves as the Handleman Professor of Surgery. He was head of the Vascular Surgery Section for 28 years, following which he served as director of the university's Frankel Cardiovascular Center for an additional 10 years. He has had an extensive clinical practice treating complex arterial disease in patients referred from around the globe. Dr. Stanley has been a National Institutes of Health Vascular Disease Academic Award
