Frank Bateman Stanger was born August 31, 1914 in Cedarville, New Jersey. After an extensive education, which included Asbury College, Asbury Theological Seminary, Princeton Theological Seminary, and Temple University School of Theology, he served as pastor to a number of churches in the New Jersey Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Both H.C. Morrison and J.C. McPheeters asked Frank Stanger to lead Asbury Theological Seminary. He finally came as Executive Vice-President in 1959 and then replaced J.C. McPheeters as the third president of Asbury Theological Seminary from 1962 to 1982....
