Sroufe, Darrell

Born and raised in the Midwestern city of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Darrell's writing talents gained early recognition as he became a finalist in a national songwriting competition paneled by lyricist Hal David of the Hal David and Burt Bacharach songwriting team, Tommy Smothers of the Smothers Brothers and 1960's era poster and album cover artist Peter Maxx. Throughout his youth, Darrell spent most of his summer vacations with family relatives in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.
