Madelon Sprengnether is a poet, memoirist, and literary critic. She is Regents Professor of English at the University of Minnesota, where she teaches poetry, theory, and creative nonfiction. Sprengnether is the author of two books of poetry: The Normal Heart, which won the Minnesota Voices competition in the early 1980s, and THE ANGEL OF DULUTH; three memoirs, Rivers, Stories, Houses, Dreams, Crying at the Movies, and GREAT RIVER ROAD: MEMOIR AND MEMORY (New Rivers Press, 2015), in addition to numerous works of feminist psychoanalytic criticism.
