Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Angelo Spagnolo first attended the Bishop's Latin School, a pre-seminary school that was located in Pittsburgh. Upon graduating in 1972, he decided not to enter the seminary but instead enrolled in Point Park College in Pittsburgh obtaining a degree in Journalism & Communications in 1976.
