South Carolina, A. Lady of

Mary Elizabeth Moragne Davis (1815-1903), was an American author. She also wrote under the pseudonym A Lady of South Carolina. She was the wife of William H. Davis, pastor of Hopewell Presbyterian Church in South Carolina. Her works include: The British Partizan: A Tale of the Olden Time (1864), Lays From Sunny Lands (1888) and The Neglected Thread: A Journal from the Calhoun Community, 1836-1842 (1951).
