Dane Smith is an air cargo pilot for Martinaire Aviation and DHL in San Antonio, Texas. He earned his B.S. Degree in Engineering Sciences in 1981 at the University of Virginia. Originally from New Jersey, Mr. Smith has lived throughout the U.S. continuing to fly and apply his engineering disciplines in a variety of venues. He is usually accompanied by his two, Maine Coon cats which have acted as the main inspiration for the writing of Suburban Serengeti.
