The Columbia River Maritime Museum has selected the best images from its collection to tell the maritime story of Astoria. Established in 1962, the museum is one of the finest maritime museums in the country and has been designated the Oregon State Maritime Museum. Situated on the Oregon shore of the Columbia River, in the heart of Astoria on the waterfront, the museum welcomes over 100,000 visitors a year. The museum's collections and exhibits focus on the lower Columbia and its treacherous bar at the gateway to the Pacific, revealing the dramatic stories of living on the river.
