Julia Sands de Melendez has often wondered if there was a way to move a culture toward a direction of inclusion and acceptance of those who may look or act, a little, or a lot, differently than the norm. She's loved reading and writing throughout her entire life and credits her mother and grandmother, who were both librarians, for giving her the gift of books and reading. As a mother of three boys, who are now young men, she feels she has finally found a way through books, that will help people of all ages to see differences as strengths, and to enjoy them!
