Smetley, Mary

Mary Smetley and her husband Ned were on the faculties of several universities in the northeast for a number of years. Since leaving academia she has been living in rural New England doing subsistence agriculture, weaving and pottery as well as turning her hand to writing and poetry. The story about Lorenzostein is dedicated to Ned whose personal life and experiences in academia are its inspiration.
