Daryl Siedentop graduated from Hope College in 1960 where he then stayed for ten years coaching basketball and baseball and teaching physical education. During that time he completed a master's degree from Western Michigan University and a doctorate in physical education from Indiana University. In 1970 he accepted a position in the School of HPER at The Ohio State University where he eventually became a Professor, Senior Associate Dean and then Interim Dean of the College of Education.
