Farhad Showghi was born in Prague in 1961 and grew up in Germany and Iran. He now lives as a psychiatrist in Hamburg. In addition to Ende des Stadplans, his second book (2003), he has published Die Walnumaske, durch die ich mich traumend a [The walnut mask I ate through in a dream], 1998, and Die grosse Enfernung [The great distance], 2008.
