Shepherd, Janet

Janet Shepherd was born and educated in Melbourne, Australia, and holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Melbourne. A deep interest in Asian languages and cultures led her to study Sinology, Turkology and Central Asian Studies at the University of Gottingen, where she received her M.A. in 1997 and her Ph.D. in 2003.
