Shephard, Esther

ESTHER SHEPHARD (1891-1975) was an educator as well as a writer whose works included several books and many plays. Making her home in Washington State, she heard the Paul Bunyan stories from loggers firsthand.
ROCKWELL KENT (1882-1971) was well-known as both an artist and a writer. He illustrated many books, including his own "Complete Works of Shakespeare," "The Canterbury Tales," and "Beowulf," He lived and painted all over the world, and in later years made his home in New York.
