Back in toaster pastry time, at one of the schools that I landed in for a few more months, a teacher said to me, "You could write a story as well as read one." That was the start for me. I've been a school bum, spending more of my elementary years out of the classroom then in. I graduated high school, skipping the graduation ceremony, then sat in some university seats for a few years. I am a gardener but not a Master Gardener. I am a poet but not a certified, degreed poet.
