GARY W. SELNOW is a communication research methodologist and analyst specializing in the social psychological aspects of human communication. He is an Associate Professor at San Francisco State University whose writings have focused on communications policy research, mass audience research, and research components of strategic planning. He is the author or editor of five books, including Society's Impact on Television: How the Viewing Public Shapes Television Programming (Praeger, 1993), which he co-wrote with Richard Gilbert.
