Deetria N. Cannon is a graduate from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a B.A in Mass Communications and Media Arts, along with a Minor in Advertising. She has always enjoyed writing short stories and poems; English was her favorite subject through her adolescent years, advancing to Creative Writing courses while in College. She takes pride in "Surviving in Stilettos" as her first written book, inspired by her journey with breast cancer diagnosed at the young age of twenty-six.
