Schwenkbeck, Rahima

A lifelong resident of Massachusetts, with occasional stints in New York City, Johnson taught in a schoolhouse himself, wrote, illustrated, photographed, traveled, ran a bookstore and was involved in politics. His writings were centered largely on travel and the countryside, with his first book being The New England Country, published in 1892.
