I lived in the mountains of Big Bear, California for thirty years. This, of course, shaped a lot of my life. We had a dog for sixteen of those years. His name was Kimo and he was thought to be part wolf. People would often ask if he was. Kimo was very loving and super-smart. He would rub his head against me to show affection, in the same way that wolves do with each other. We took many walks in the forest over his lifetime. From those I gained some personnal insight into their behaviors and instincts.
