Rosemarie Schulga grew up in Germany during World War II. Her Russian-born father, stranded in Germany after being released as a prisoner of war in World War I, was not given citizenship. Arrested again when World War II broke out, little did he know his young daughter was taking in everything around her-both frightening and wonderful-and storing them in her heart. Now an American citizen living in Tucson, Arizona, Rosemarie has studied art and Russian at the University of Arizona, is married and has two grown daughters, Sonya and Tanya.
