Stoyan Sarg Sargoytchev, a Bulgarian-born Canadian, holds an engineering diploma and a PhD in Physics. From 1976 to 1990 he worked at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences on space research projects sponsored by the international program Intercosmos. From 1990 he was a visiting scientist of Cornell University and worked for two years at the Arecibo Observatory P.R. on a Lidar project.
