Born in a log cabin deep in the Kiamichi Mountains of Southeastern Oklahoma, Erman has seen and lived through many of the events and things he writes about. His work experience includes farming, cowboy on big ranches, truck driving, oilfield, mechanic, logging in the timberlands, reserve deputy sheriff, fire chief, union president, postal employee, supervisor, branch manager, and writer.
