Salmon, Elon

Salmon was born in Israel. His father was a close associate of Israel's first prime minister. Elon was sent to a very English boarding school, then he returned to Israel to do national military service ending up as a lieutenant commanding a combat platoon. During the Six Days War he fought as a reservist on the Jordanian front. He then worked in Sweden for Israel's Ministry of Tourism before moving to the UK to work as a freelance journalist.
