I was saved at 19. It was a life changing experience. I loved God, wanted to save the world and witnessed for Him at every opportunity. But because of a wrong self-image, not knowing everything that I had in Jesus and with a legalistic understanding of God's word it wasn't long before I felt a sense of condemnation and was headed in the wrong direction. About 20 years later I found myself heavily addicted to drugs with a twisted understanding of God wherein I had come to believe that God was mainly a mean and punishing God that was sending almost everyone, including and especially me, to Hell....
