The author is a journalist. He attempted writing a novel when he was barely sixteen. The novel was published with the financial help of some well-meaning literature lovers, who saw merit in the boyish writer in Calcutta. The writer shifted to Bombay in the early sixties where his journalistic career began. He started working for a women's magazine Gori.
