E.J. Milner-Gulland is a Reader in Conservation Science in the Division of Biology, Silwood Park, Imperial College London. Her first degree was in Pure and Applied Biology at Oxford University, and she did her PhD in bioeconomics and conservation at Imperial College. She held a Junior Research Fellowship at New College, Oxford, and then was an NSERC/Royal Society visiting researcher at the University of British Columbia.
